Jack Salmela Presents "Of Vikings and Voyageurs"

Popular Duluth novelist Jack Salmela returns to the library with a presentation on his mystery/thriller "Of Vikings and Voyageurs," Wednesday evening, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Salmela last visited us in February when he presented a slide show giving a behind-the-scenes look at the history behind his 2011 novel, "Sisterhood of the Hennepin Chalice." That event drew quite an audience, with many inquiring about his earlier novel. Both books are set in Minnesota and feature mysteries relating to historical events—this time including early Viking exploration of Minnesota (did they leave behind the Kensington Rune Stone?) and a link to the French voyageurs. Once again, the slide show will be accompanied by a professional interpreter, this time portraying a voyageur with authentic artifacts (including a musket from the era). It's sure to be another fascinating evening. Doors will open for seating shortly after 6 p.m.; the main library will be closed at this time.
