Kids Enjoy Healthy Snacks

More than 40 children dropped by the library to learn about healthy snacks from Kristen, a student who was doing a summer internship through Carlton County's Public Health Services. Kids learned to identify foods from the five groups of the Food Pryamid, colored healthy snacks, and discovered how smart snacking can taste great. Kids and adults got to sample a variety of treats from the Cloquet Natural Foods store, including sunflower butter on rice thins, Peanut Butter Bumpers cereal, Tamari pumpkin seeds, Extreme Dark Chocolate, and Sesame Bars with molasses.
